Your board configuration determines which moments are displayed. To ensure accuracy of a moment displayed, each selected query, news and/or industry vertical are validated for relevancy.
Relevancy Rules
To consider a query, news or industry vertical as relevant to a moment it must pass the following rules:
-
Query - Must be mentioned in 30% or more articles within the moment, AND the query must be prominently mentioned within the articles (title or first few paragraphs).
-
News Vertical = Must be tagged in 34% or more articles within the moment
-
Industry Vertical = Must be tagged in 34% or more articles within the moment
- Mentions v. Tags:
- A query can be specifically mentioned within the title or body of an article by the author/publisher. For example, “LeBron James scored 35 points to clinch playoff bid”
- Tags on the other hand, refer to general topics the content is related to related to. For example, the above article would most like be tagged with “National Basketball Association” news vertical as well as the “Professional Basketball” industry vertical
Relevancy with Quick Add Boards:
Quick Add Boards automatically generate a board configuration by selecting inputs from your brand profile with an “OR” statement (with exception to the Top Moments Board). Relevancy scores are used to determine which moments to display on these quick add boards.
-
Industry Quick Add Board = This board will display all moments where either is true:

*Note: In the Quick Add Board section you can also select a single News or Industry Vertical. Similarly, moments displayed would have the vertical tagged in 34% or more of the articles.
Relevancy with “AND” / "OR" statements:
When building a board with an "OR" statement, our platform searches for moments that are relevant to each selection. However, when building a board with an "AND" statement, our platform searches for moments that are relevant to all selections.
For example, if you want to build a board around the following: 1. Nike (query) 2. Professional Basketball (industry vertical)
This board would display all moments where either is true:
-
Nike is prominently mentioned in 30% or more of the articles
-
Professional Basketball is tagged within 34% or more of the articles
This board would display all moments where both are true:
- Nike is prominently mentioned in 30% or more of the articles AND Professional Basketball is tagged within 34% or more of the articles.
*Note: Combining queries, news or industry verticals by an "AND" statement allows you to narrow down the specific moments you want to see. Alternatively, too many selections or niche topics may not yield as many expected results due to the limiting criteria.
